What are the current restrictions in Sandy Point during the COVID-19 outbreak?

The South Gippsland Shire Council has now informed us that:

Following the further easing of restrictions from midnight on Monday 9 November 2020, indoor Community Facilities including community centres, halls (including community halls and scout halls), RSL clubs and youth centres are now permitted to reopen with some restrictions.

Under Third Step restrictions, indoor community services and local government facilities in Victoria can operate as follows:

 Community facilities can open for a maximum of 20 people, with no more than 10 people permitted to gather in any one space (for example for a class) – where each indoor space is a minimum of 40m2 in size.

Up to 10 people can gather outdoors from any number of households, excluding infants under 12 months. More than 10 people can gather in public if they are all from the same household.

Masks must still be worn outside your home unless exercising.

The General Store is open for business from 9am - 5pm.

The Café is now open 8am – 8pm  for takeaway and you can also “dine in” but bookings are essential. Phone Number is 5684 1288.

Make sure you observe appropriate physical distancing rules by keeping at least 1.5 metres from other people at all times.”

As a result, the Community Centre will be open from Tuesday 9th June, with Tai Chi and Wed morning Pilates recommencing.

The playparks are now open and the tennis courts are available, but only one court – as per social distancing guidelines. Booking of the court should be made through the General Store

“Restrictions on facilities such as community centres, public halls and public libraries have eased.

From 11:59 pm on 31 May, these community facilities have been permitted to open with no more than 20 people allowed in each separate space at any one time, in addition to those required to operate the facility. Density requirements (one person per four square metres) must also be complied with.

Make sure you observe appropriate physical distancing rules by keeping at least 1.5 metres from other people at all times.”

As a result, the Community Centre will be open from Tuesday 9th June, with Tai Chi and Wed morning Pilates recommencing.
