Sandy Point Foreshore Committee of Management

Our Role

The main role of Sandy Point Foreshore Committee is to manage the coastal reserve including the bushland along the foreshore and  between Shallow Inlet and the eastern end of the township (Manuka Street).

Projects undertaken in recent times include the walking track from Manuka St to Shallow Inlet (called the Roy Henderson trail), a stairway onto the beach at Ned Neale’s Lookout, an ongoing weed eradication program, BBQ and toilet facilities at Shallow Inlet and regular beach-rubbish cleanups.

Funding to support projects like those described above comes from grants from State Government and some support from  DELWP (Department of  Environment Land, Water & Planning )

This committee is appointed by the State Minister and works in collaboration with  DELWP  to manage the foreshore.
