Black-shouldered Kite
COMMON NAME: Black-shouldered Kite
These small white and grey raptors have distinctive black shoulder patches.
Beware, the adults have scary red eyes.
They may be spotted at the inlet, but are more regularly seen sitting in trees on the side of the road as you drive into the village.
You may also see one hovering above the farmland around Sandy Point Road, before it swoops down on unsuspecting prey.
