Little Wattlebird

COMMON NAME: Little Wattlebird

CATEGORIES: Bush birds

LOCAL NOTES:

The first sound you’ll hear in the morning at Sandy Point is the repetitive braying of the Little Wattlebird.

Slightly smaller and plainer than the Red Wattlebird, this common bird can be seen darting into flowering shrubs where it dines on nectar.

On summer evenings, you see them sitting on the powerlines watching for insects to catch on the wing.
