The Current Cruiser Returns This Summer
The iconic Current Cruiser open-water swim is returning to Waratah Beach this summer — bringing together swimmers, families and holidaymakers for a fun and memorable community event.
Participants will begin at the Shallow Inlet beach carpark, walking the beach to the starting line before diving into either the 500m (Family Float), 500m Swim or 1500m swim. The event caters to a wide range of abilities, offering a rewarding challenge in a spectacular setting.
All swimmers receive a commemorative event t-shirt and swim cap—perfect souvenirs from a morning of adventure at Waratah Beach. After the race, everyone is welcome to join the presentations and celebrations at the Surf Club.
All funds raised support the Waratah Beach Surf Life Saving Club, helping to purchase rescue equipment, fund training and support youth development programs. Volunteers are always appreciated on event day, whether marshalling, cheering or helping behind the scenes—it’s a great way to be part of the fun.
