Fabulous Foodies

Every year the Sandy Point Community Group (SPCG) organises the Foodies & Artisans Market, and what a fabulous Foodies we had on January 3 this year - record crowds, vendors and fundraising for the community. The list to thank is long, as an event like this is the result of an army of volunteers who make it happen.
First a huge thank-you to the committee of the Sandy Point Community Group (as well as co-opted family members) who worked on the planning, promotion and running of the event, and the raffle. The market’s success, however, was primarily driven by the leadership and management skills of our President, Michelle Jelleff. We heartily thank you Michelle, and apologise for all your sleepless nights.
We thank Marinus Link who have been the principal sponsor of this and other community events in the past 12 months. It was great to have your participation and opportunity for community consultation at Foodies as well.
Thank-you to the Community Centre Committee of Management for enabling the use of our fantastic hall and surrounding reserve. A special mention goes to Danny Millton for managing the complicated vendor power needs this year, along with the vital assistance of JohnoElec and Alan Wright
The SP Men’s Shed are always the powerhouse behind community events and projects. Thank-you to all the Shedders who assisted with the street signage, bins, fridge moving, tarps, outdoor furniture, and likely many other tasks involved on the day.
Thank-you to the SP Music crew for organising the live music. How lovely it was to sit, eat and drink on the grass while enjoying the music of Aimee Le Page and Fiona Curram. Thanks also to SPM for supplying and erecting the temporary fencing around the carpark.
Thank-you to our wonderful Surf Club for providing us with first aid support, as well as some of the traffic management equipment needed.
Thank-you to our CFA brigade and our Sandy Community eBus for assistance with site management.
The Foodies Bar was the busiest ever, managing the constantly high demand for a wide variety of drinks. Thanks to the hard working team of servers and other helpers. Thanks also to the kind folks who provided their large eskies.
We are very grateful to the General Store for the generous deal with the supply of the bar drinks. Paddy you are a delight, your support of this community event, and your willingness to help out with last minute needs was so very much appreciated. Thank-you!
Finally, have you ever noticed how this community automatically pitches in with the clean up after any community event? Thank-you so much to all those who did just that, especially as it had to be done that night in preparation for another booking in the Community Centre.
THANK-YOU ALL !
