Forest Raven

Forest Raven at Shallow Inlet

COMMON NAME: Forest Raven

CATEGORIES: Beach Bush Inlet

These glossy black corvids are the ravens you are most likely to encounter locally.

They are the largest of the three species of ravens found in Australia.

The easiest way to distinguish them from other ravens is by their deep low voice.

They are seen in remnant scrub in the village and around Shallow Inlet.

You may also see them on the beach where they scavenge carrion and prey on eggs and nestlings.
