Gang-Gang Cockatoo
COMMON NAME: Gang-Gang Cockatoo
CATEGORIES: Bush
These small dark grey cockatoos have bronze-edged scalloped feathers.
Both males and females have a distinctive topknot. The male’s head and topknot are a warm red tone, whilst the female’s are plain grey.
Usually in pairs or family groups, they chatter away while feeding. Their call is a distinctive creaky door sound.
They are winter visitors to Sandy Point and may be spotted in seed-bearing trees.
