Pied Cormorant
COMMON NAME: Pied Cormorant
CATEGORIES: Inlet
These large black and white cormorants have signature black “trousers”.
They are substantially bigger than the similar looking Little Pied Cormorant, which is the more common black and white cormorant found locally.
Occasionally seen at the inlet, you may spot one diving for fish or sitting on the water’s edge or a dead branch while drying its outspread wings.
