Whimbrel

Whimbrel on the spit at Sandy Point

COMMON NAME: Whimbrel

CATEGORIES: Beach Inlet Migratory

These migratory shorebirds are occasional visitors to Sandy Point.

They are only around in summer, as they breed on the Arctic tundra over our winter.
