Yellow-rumped Thornbill
COMMON NAME: Yellow-rumped Thornbill
CATEGORIES: Farmland
These tiny birds move around in small flocks.
They feed on the ground in open habitat, eating insects and grubs.
They can be hard to spot, and you are most likely to catch a flash of yellow as they fly from the ground to the safety of a bush.
They are distinguished from the locally more common Brown Thornbill by their spotted head and yellow rump
