One of the most popular beach activities each year is the Sandy Point Sandcastle Competition.
The event is generally held every year during the Summer school holidays.
Over 200 people, young and old, and many family groups participate in this friendly, happy competition.
The competition is held on the main beach near the surf lifesaving club. Prizes are awarded for the best sandcastles.
This summer’s competition will be Sunday 28th December, 2025
Registration/start from 10:30am
Stops at 12:00pm, midday
Followed by judging and awarding of prize.
A Sausage Sizzle is also held at the start of the beach track for hungry sandcastle builders. This year it will be a fundraiser for the Sandy Point Men’s Shed and the ‘Sandy’ community electric bus.
