Skatepark

Skatepark

The Sandy Point Community Group (SPCG) is committed to supporting all members of our community and understands how important it is for young people to feel recognised, respected and included in the decisions that impact their community. A small skate park in Sandy Point is a strategic priority for the SPCG. With increasing numbers of people coming to live or holiday in Sandy Point, it is really important to have more recreational facilities for the younger members of our community.

SPCG continues to engage in dialogue with the South Gippsland Shire Council as the two preferred skatepark site locations sit under Council jurisdiction. Looking forward, depending upon an agreed site, there may also be the necessity to engage with the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA). A skatepark is listed on the Sandy Point Community Plan and has been included as a priority project in discussions with Council around a Masterplan.
