Eastern Spinebill


COMMON NAME: Eastern Spinebill

CATEGORIES: Bush

These stunning small honeyeaters have a long slender curved bill.

The male has red eyes and distinctive markings with black, brown and white plumage.

The female has a dark brown eyes and is plainer, lacking the striking black feathers.

These are very active birds, flitting around while feeding on flowers.

They are frequent visitors to gardens and birdbaths around the village.
