Red Knot
COMMON NAME: Red Knot
CATEGORIES: Beach Inlet Migratory
These medium sized grey and white waders are migratory birds, seen occasionally in Sandy Point over summer.
They can be observed feeding at the water’s edge on the spit or out on the mudflats at the inlet.
They are usually in mixed groups with other migratory birds.
They are slightly smaller than the similar looking Great Knot.
