Little Black Cormorant
COMMON NAME: Little Black Cormorant
CATEGORIES: Inlet
Commonly seen down the inlet, often in the company of other cormorants, though periodically they can be seen in huge single species groups.
They like to sit on buoys and signs, typically with their wings spread out to dry in the sun.
They can also be seen swimming around and diving for fish. They are excellent divers.
They are significantly smaller than the other black cormorant, the Great Cormorant.
