COMMON NAME: Terek Sandpiper

CATEGORIES: Beach Inlet Migratory

These small grey and white migratory birds are rare visitors to our area.

They have a distinctive long upcurved bill and short orange-yellow legs.

They may be spotted alone, or in groups of mixed waders.

They migrate to Finland and Siberia over our winter, where they breed near rivers and lakes.
