Australian White Ibis

COMMON NAME: Australian White Ibis

CATEGORIES: Inlet

A common sight out on the mudflats, they frequently keep company with other non migratory waders such as herons and spoonbills.

They are large birds, with a black head and tail, a black curved beak and off-white coloured body.

They use their long downturned bill to probe for invertebrates in the mud.
