Bar-tailed Godwit
COMMON NAME: Bar-tailed Godwit
CATEGORIES: Beach Inlet Migratory
These stunning migratory birds have stripy tail feathers and a very long pink bill with a black tip.
They can be seen at the inlet, feeding out on the mudflats and roosting at high tide in the salt marsh.
They can also be seen on the spit, usually in mixed groups with other waders.
